Workplace Specific English, Literacy and Numeracy

This course is aimed at learners with low level education, who need to overcome the barriers to adequate work place communication, understanding OHS procedures and being able to carry out simple numeracy tasks related to the workplaces including factories, warehouses and distribution centres.

The program introduces unemployed people to essential workplace skills, and is developed to be a flexible resource that can be adapted to suit multiple industries.

Skills development include various employability skills relevant to multiple industries:

  • Communication;

  • Understanding and following procedures and instructions;

  • Work safely by understanding and implementing WHS protocols;

  • Working to quality standards;

  • Working with others;

  • Numeracy and working with numbers; and

  • Using IT in the workplace.
